Final Presidential Debate

Tonight is the third and final presidential debate before the 2008 elections. So, what is said tonight is likely to leave a lasting memory in the voting public for both candidates. Due to this, tonight’s debate is the most important debate of the three and is very high stakes. It will be interesting to see if either Obama or McCain can stick with tonight’s topics of the economy and domestic issues or whether they veer into personal attacks. Also, Obama’s lead in the polls has continued to widen since their previous debate in Nashville. McCain will have to do some serious work in this debate to make up for lost ground while Obama merely has to pull out a solid debate without any catastrophes. With this being the final debate it is likely to pull the most viewers further emphasizing the importance of this debate for both candidates as a last attempt to sway the minds of the voters. Depending on the poll chosen, the latest results have Obama up by 10-11% over McCain and it will be very interesting to see where the polls land following the debate.

BO

I was listening to Micheal Savage’s “The Savage Nation” and he often referring to Obama As “BO” for respect because Obama has asked not to be referred to as BHO. What Does BHO stand for? t stands for Barack Hussain Obama. He asked not to be referred to BHO because he does not acknowledge his middle name. So in respect Savage was referring to him as “BO”. He then went on to compare Obama to Hitler, which I thought was quite amusing indeed. He described how Hitler came into power with the help of the rich and wealthy. The rich and wealthy people of Germany thought they could control Hitler because they thought he needed them. But once in Power he didn’t need them anymore. He then went on to be.. well we all know what Hitler went on to be. So he compared Obama as using the rich and wealthy to win the presidency. Once in office Savage says Obama will Bring a wave of Tierney , he will gain control of the total government and abolish term limits and become similar to what Hitler was. I know this is far stretched but somewhat amusing .

McCain’s “Town Hall” Meeting

Apparently John McCain is so old he forgot the definition of a town hall event.  What was suppost to be a town hall event on Monday turned out to be nothing more than a lecture to die-hard supporters.  At the end of his specch, McCain left the stage without taking and questions from the crowd.  Whether this slip-up hurts McCain or not remains to be seen, but it certiantly won’t help him gain votes and gives Obama amunition for tonight’s debate.

Sara Palin will be holding a rally at Elon University tomorrow.

The Nash Effect

IN a recent article I’ve read on North Carolina politics from Oct 14, it explained the history of nash county and North Carolina. In the 2000 and 2004 elections Republican President George Bush carried Nash County with about 60 percent of the vote and native Nash county democratic gov won be similar margins. They then went on to talk about how NC has separated its votes/ affiliations for national and state elections. for years NC has been a Republican stronghold, but feels there might be a change come Nov 4. For the first time in more than 30 years of presidential politics, North Carolina is seen as a toss-up.This change they described as the “Nash effect” they desribed the nash effect as the growing number of voter registration, most of which were Black, Unafilliated or democrat. they feel that this growing number will help Obama take nash county and will be emblematic of the rest of the state.
